Sweet Passion Bakery in San Francisco has been serving customers Chinese and Irish pastries in the Sunset District for more than a decade. I took over the bake shop in 2008 when it was predominately an Asian bakery serving staple food items such as barbecue pork buns, pineapple buns, cocktails buns, and egg tarts.
As the neighborhood changed, I wished to incorporate more into my business. I brought in help from a baker who is from Belfast, Ireland. Together, John Campbell and I expanded Sweet Passion Bakery’s option to include Irish soda bread, brown bread, scones, sausage rolls, shepherd’s pie, soda farl and other Irish baked goods.
Most recently, we began expanding our menu with rustic loaves, croissants and more. Today, I am proud to be one of the only bakeries in the Bay Area offering items from very different cultures under one roof.
